I suppose it depends on what kinds of repercussions you're worried about. The ghost-hunting shows seem to be accepted as a fairly standard part of society now. She may get a little bit of grief for participating, but she could always say she wanted the money or the publicity.
There's also always the possibility of running your own experiments. Or of getting friends to help. I have a friend who's very good at designing experiments and has suddenly found himself fascinated with the supernatural. I could always put you in contact with him.
